(USA) Artie Romero began his career in comics during his high school days in the 1960s. He studied commercial art in college, while self-publishing some comics. In 1973, he founded the underground comix group Everyman Studios with Darrel Anderson, Rick Berry, Thom Haber, David Gregory Taylor, Ron Hueftle and Kirk Kennedy. Together with Darrel Anderson, he produced the alternative/underground newspaper, The Everyman Flyer, from Summer 1974 until February, 1975. In 1976, he started publishing underground comix with the Everyman Comics imprint, such as 'Animal Bite Comix' and 'Realm', as well as the alternative comics journal Cascade Comix Monthly. He left comics in the early 1980s and began a career in animation.
