(Brazil) Mozart Couto is well-known Brazilian comics artist. He began his comics career in 1978, drawing for Grafipar under the guidance of Claudio Seto. Together with Franco De Rosa, he created the barbarian 'Zamor' at the Estúdio Bico de Pena in 1982. He produced several horror stories for Press Editorial, such as 'Superficção', 'Ambrak' and 'HellDorado'. He was a regular contributor to Rodolfo Zalla's Calafrio magazine. In the 1980s, he also drew for the international Commu agency. Through this agency, he drew among others the caricatural series 'Tambo' with text by Julio Braz for the Belgian publisher Comic Productions. He also produced 'Brakan', 'Gilvath' and 'Biocyberdrama'. He was also present on the North American market with 'Turok', 'Wonder Woman', 'Glory', 'Gamera' and other titles for companies like Marvel, DC and Dark Horse. In 2001, he began a collaboration with Opera Graphica, drawing for Fantasma Gold, Crônicas do Fantasma and Fantasma Magazine. He also released an educational book about drawing fantastic art ('Desenhando Arte Fantástica').
