Chaos! Comics was a comic book publisher that operated until 2002. Nominated by Diamond Comic Distribution as New Publisher of the Year in 1994, Chaos! consistently ranked as a top ten comic book publisher in North America since 1995.
Their titles included Lady Death, Purgatori, Evil Ernie, Chastity, Jade, Omen, Bad Kitty, Cremator, Lady Demon, and Smiley The Psychotic Button.
They also published licensed comics for the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and several bands.
Chaos Comics filed bankruptcy in 2002 with all characters (save Lady Death) being sold off to Tales of Wonder. Prior to the bankruptcy, rights to Lady Death were sold to Crossgen Comics; prior to Crossgen's bankruptcy those rights were then sold to Brian Pulido & Avatar Press.
Tales of Wonder later licensed their Chaos properties to Devil's Due Publishing, making them essentially a DDP imprint. Under this arrangement, Chaos produced a new monthly series of Purgatori & (limited series) of Evil Ernie with a Chastity book that was scheduled for eventual release. However, Devil's Due cancelled the new titles due to low sales, moving the Chaos properties back to limbo.
